It basically means his best years instead of being immediately ahead of Soriano are immediately behind Soriano.

In what sense does it mean that?

Well, Mantle said if he hit like Rose, he'd wear a dress.

So, what's Aaron wearing?

The Braves run is yet again shown to be awfully impressive.

I am not so sure that the talent pool is so deep that the Yankees, already having a having a veteran core each year, can be reasonably sure to remain at playoff win totals each year without spending a lot, especially with other relatively high spending teams in their division.

Ken Keltner's name has been immortalized in the famous "Keltner List," a series of questions that help to assess a player's Hall of Fame credentials.

I think that is a liberal interpretation of immortality. Stopping Joe D's streak is more likely what immortalized KK.

Irrelevant nits aside, that was a very nice piece by Matt. Keep 'em coming.
